First Japan International Study Program in Three Years

2023/07/04

From June 5 to June 13, we held our annual an International Study Program with our overseas partner institutions, which had been held every June, for the first time in three years. Although the exchange was temporarily suspended due to the COVID-19, this year we welcomed a total of eight international students from Hawaii Community Colleges and Trine University, and they experienced Japanese language classes, exchanged meetings with our students, and a tea ceremony experience. This year, since we had a partner school exchange student from Indiana, which has a sister relationship with Tochigi Prefecture, we invited a person from the Tochigi Prefectural Government to introduce Tochigi Prefecture and provide a brief opportunity for exchange. The program included sightseeing tours to Nikko and Tokyo, and a half-day home stay experience, allowing the students to experience Japanese culture, history, and lifestyle.

Hakuoh University offers an International Study Program in the summer. Staying in Japan for about a week, students can interact with students at Hakuoh, experience Japanese culture such as tea ceremony, calligraphy, origami, and visit host families' homes on weekends to experience the Japanese lifestyle.
