Tochigi Prefecture (where Hakuoh University is located) is famous for its delicious strawberries. Likewise, the biggest city in Tochigi Prefecture, Utsunomiya, is famous around Japan for its pot-stickers (called “gyoza” in Japanese).
The best thing here is the food. There's also great access to a close by grocery store where they sell affordable, fresh meats and vegetables. Cooking at home is one of the ways you can save money. You can go to many places using the train.
It takes about an hour and a half to reach Tokyo and it costs about 1300~1500yen (about $15) one way.
